February introduced a range of fixes, feature enhancements, and new AI models to Cascade improving efficiency, customization, and developer experience. The update covers things from Wave 3 also brings better credit tracking, a revamped Turbo Mode, customizable app icons for Mac users, and improvements to completions and terminal commands.

Windsurf Updates

Model Context Protocol (MCP): Expand Your Toolkit

Cascade now integrates the Model Context Protocol (MCP), empowering you to connect to external MCP servers seamlessly. MCP enables Cascade to interact with external data and services effortlessly, significantly enhancing workflow automation and reducing manual task management. Every MCP call consumes only one flow action credit, available now for individual plans. Here’s a “Beginner’s Guide to using MCP in Windsurf”

Turbo Mode: Automate Command Execution

Responding to community demand, Turbo Mode allows Cascade to automatically execute terminal commands. This significantly accelerates development workflows by reducing repetitive tasks and enabling quicker iterations. Turbo Mode is now available across all individual plans.

Tab-to-Jump: Smarter Code Navigation

Enhancements to predictive completions include the introduction of Tab-to-Jump, allowing you to rapidly navigate your codebase. This feature intelligently predicts and moves your cursor to the next logical editing position, significantly speeding up code editing. Unlimited Autocomplete and Supercomplete suggestions are available for all users, with additional “Fast Mode” available for paid subscribers.

Custom App Icons: Personalize Your Experience

To celebrate our paid users’ creativity and dedication, we’ve introduced customizable app icons for Mac users. Select from Classic, Blueprint, Hand-drawn, and Valentine options to personalize your Windsurf experience. Windows and Linux customizations coming soon.

Drag-and-Drop Images: Simplified Input

Cascade now supports intuitive drag-and-drop image uploads directly from your file system or screenshots. This user-requested feature streamlines visual asset handling, making it easier than ever to incorporate images into your workflows.

Credit Transparency

Now, easily view how many credits each action consumes by simply hovering over completed actions. This improved transparency helps you manage resources effectively.
