[](https://devin.ai/blog) # Devin now works across Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 CognitionSeptember 23, 20264 min read Today we’re launching a major upgrade for engineers who use Devin and the Microsoft ecosystem: native support to @ mention Devin in Microsoft Teams, and a first-party Microsoft 365 integration that connects Devin to mail, calendar, files, tasks, chats, and your directory. Over 90% of Fortune 500 companies use Microsoft Teams for everything from bug reports to product specs. With this release, Devin can now be added to channels, chats, and threads and pick up sessions with the right context and stakeholders – then share its work back in the same place. ### Devin in Microsoft Teams 01 / 03 **DMs and Group Chats.** Devin has been available in Teams channels since last year, but now you can message Devin directly, or add it to a group chat, and it starts a session and replies in the conversation. You can go back and forth the same way you would in the Devin web app. **Automations from Teams channels.** Devin can listen to a channel and start work on its own when a message arrives: a bug report, an alert, a request. **Cards for questions, approvals, and sign-ins.** When Devin needs something from you, it sends a card instead of a wall of text. Answer a clarifying question, approve an action, or sign in to an MCP server in one click. Devin has also received a number of other improvements, it can @-mention people, send file attachments, and mute itself within a chat. ### A first-party Microsoft 365 integration In addition to working natively in teams, we’re also announcing a new Devin integration with Microsoft 365. Starting today, you can access a set of Microsoft 365 MCP servers, built and hosted by Cognition and available in Devin’s MCP Marketplace. There are six connections: 1. Mail & Contacts: read, organize, and send Outlook email, and manage contacts 2. Calendar: view, create, update, and delete events 3. OneDrive & SharePoint: browse, read, and upload files, including files shared with you by link 4. Microsoft To Do: list, create, update, and complete tasks 5. Microsoft Teams: list your teams, channels, and chats, and send a message on your behalf. This is separate from the Teams app above. 6. Directory (Microsoft Entra ID): look up people, their managers, and your own profile Powered by these connectors, you can now give Devin tasks like: > _Read the design doc Priya shared in SharePoint and the email thread about the billing migration, then open a PR for phase one. Put a review on my calendar for Thursday and add the follow-ups to my To Do list._ Devin acts as the signed-in user. It can reach what that user can reach in Microsoft 365, and nothing else. ### Security and permissions We built both integrations for fast & easy review from your security team - Installing the Teams app grants no access to mail, files, or calendars. The upgraded Teams app requests no new permissions compared with the current one. Message access comes only from resource-specific consent, scoped to the teams and chats where Devin is installed. Removing the app revokes it. - The Microsoft 365 MCP uses delegated, per-user permissions only. There are no application-level permissions. Each of the six connections has its own gated consent screen. The minimum for each is read-only, and write access is an optional scope you can untick when connecting. Tenants that restrict user consent can require admin approval first, and a few broader directory scopes always need admin consent. Admins can also decide to use the Cognition first-party MCP server or bring their own Entra App. 01 / 02 The full permission list for Teams is in our [docs](https://docs.devin.ai/integrations/microsoft-teams). ### Getting started Both are available now to all Devin customers. - Microsoft Teams: install [Devin AI from the Microsoft Marketplace](https://marketplace.microsoft.com/en-us/product/saas/wa200009258), then connect it under Settings > Connections in Devin. Setup needs a Microsoft Teams admin and a Devin admin. After that, each person links their own account once. - Microsoft 365: open the [MCP Marketplace](https://app.devin.ai/customize?tab=plugins\&browse=true) in Devin and connect the Microsoft 365 servers you want.
