GPT-5.6 models are now available in Devin

GPT-5.6 models are now live in Devin Desktop and Devin CLI. GPT-5.6 is also available as a preview on Devin Cloud through July 16th, 2026.

Three models are availble in this release:

  • Sol: most capable, flagship model
  • Terra: balanced performance and cost, competitive with GPT-5.5 at half the price
  • Luna: fastest and most affordable

GPT-5.6 advances the frontier on software engineering, with GPT-5.6 Sol built for frontier reasoning and long-horizon agentic work. This is exactly the category of tasks users rely on Devin to tackle.

On FrontierCode 1.1, our proprietary benchmark that grades models on real-world engineering tasks based on quality and mergeability, the GPT-5.6 family stands out for pairing strong scores with excellent cost efficiency. GPT-5.6 Sol achieves strong results at nearly half of the cost of the next best model. Terra matches GPT-5.5-level performance at about half the price, and Luna delivers the lowest cost per task of any model we tested.
