Cascade on JetBrains

Cascade is now available across JetBrains IDEs. This brings our AI chat experience to even more developer workflows. We are now the only leading AI-powered code assistant platform to have a truly agentic experience available in a JetBrains plugin. Not just Autocomplete, Chat, and Command (all of which have existed for a while on our highly-used and highly-rated JetBrains plugin), but a truly industry leading experience.

Deploys (Beta)

You can now deploy your projects directly from Windsurf to the public internet — no terminal or external tooling required. With Deploys, developers can push their websites or JavaScript web apps live in a standard, repeatable way — all from within the Windsurf Editor.

  • One-click deploy via UI or Cascade
  • Persistent URLs for each project
  • Claim and manage deployments from your Netlify account
  • View deploy history and build status in your dashboard
  • Free users: 1 new site/day, Paid users: 2 new sites/day

Commit Message Generation

Writing good commits just got easier. Generate a descriptive commit message from your diff with a single click. Available on all paid plans and fully editable before pushing.

Cascade Conversation Table of Contents

We’ve added a new overlay to help you navigate long Cascade sessions. Easily jump or revert back to earlier stages of the conversation, helping you avoid credit waste and quickly get unstuck when needed.

Long Conversation Performance

We’ve dramatically improved Cascade’s handling of long conversations through smarter checkpointing and summarization. These changes reduce quality degradation and make agentic interactions more stable — even after dozens of steps. No video for this one—but if you’ve felt the slowdown before, you’ll notice the difference.

Tab Improvements

Tab keeps getting smarter.

  • Search context now flows into Tab for better relevance
  • Works seamlessly in Jupyter notebooks
  • Faster tab-to-jump experience across cursor positions
  • Numerous UI and speed improvements

Enterprise Updates

  • Admin Tools and Controls
  • Toggle access to advanced model features (MCP, Turbo Mode, etc.)
  • Manage site deploy permissions and model usage via centralized portal

Performance & Infrastructure

  • Improved long-convo handling and summarization
  • Reduced latency for Cascade and Tab features
  • Stronger model fallback logic for large orgs

The line between building, previewing, and shipping is vanishing—and it’s all happening inside your IDE. Surf’s up. 🌊
